Our school day runs from 8.45am until 3.15pm. This equates to six and a half hours a day 32.5 hours a week.
The gates onto the playground open at 8:35am each morning and the children come straight into school. The gates close at 8:45am. There will always be a member of staff at the gate to greet the children and speak to parents if needed, but we try to let the children come into school on their own, which we find gives the children a quicker, more purposeful start to the day.
If you arrive after 8:45am, children will need to enter through the main reception and be signed in on the school system by parents/carers dropping off. Children should not be sent in on their own if they are late.
Be an Attendance Hero
Every day counts……Support your child to achieve their best.Good attendance and punctuality are vital for success and help to establish positive life habits that are necessary for our pupil’s future achievements.
All absences must be reported to the school office by 8.30am.
Absences can be reported by calling 01299 250312 and speaking to a member of staff or leaving a voicemail on our answerphone. Alternatively, please email office@far.saet.co.uk
Classroom doors open at 8.35am and pupils should be on site ready for registration at 8.45am at the latest.
Any pupil arriving after this time must come through the main school office and will be signed in as ‘Late’ on the register.
It is vital that pupils arrive on time to school as arriving late causes disruption to both theirs and others learning.

The School Day
Registration
The register takes place at 8.45am in the classroom. During this time, each class has a range of ‘morning activities’ including reading, practising spellings, counting, times tables and mindfulness to get the day off to a good start. Subjects like Geography and History are timetabled based on the current topic being taught.
End of the Day
End of school is at 3:15pm. The gates onto the playground open at 3:10pm for parents to enter the playground.
